Paid directory links can have value to your website

In a recent Google Webmaster Central video, Matt Cutts discussed the process you should use when assessing the value of a link from a paid directory.
Surprise, suprise, it’s pretty much common sense. Matt says that links from paid directories that actually do some editorial filtering have more value than spammy directories that allow everyone who pays to get listed.
He cites the Yahoo directory and Best of the Web as two paid directories that have decent editorial standards and therefore provide links with some value for your site.
